Your guide to transitioning to VertiGIS Studio from Geocortex Essentials

As you may be aware, Esri recently announced the retirement of the ArcGIS® API for JavaScript Version 3.x effective July 1, 2024. The Geocortex Essentials code base is based on version 3.x.API which is why VertiGIS has been busy for the past two years developing VertiGIS Studio which is based on the new 4.x.API as a replacement to Geocortex Essentials.

After the Version 3.x retirement in July 2024 customer’s Geocortex applications will continue to function however customers should be mindful that browser updates could introduce new issues which won’t be addressed by API patches. Should a breaking change be introduced into the ecosystem (for example, a browser update that breaks the 3.x API), Esri may not provide an API fix which may seriously affect both Geocortex Essentials and ArcGIS® Web AppBuilder users moving forward.
